He also didn't look like he had all of his marbles either. Probably the most American thing I've seen all day.

In lousiana. Honestly people that aren't police officers that open carry in public make me nervous. I mean if you want to conceal carry then I don't mind that. But when you walk around with a massive ass glock in a crowded walmart I'm going to want to get away from you as soon as possible.

Interesting. With SR20 and a post on reddit, that probably would've made their FP in no time.

I'm sorry, I may be brave, but I'm not stupid. I am not going to risk pissing off the kind of person that open carries in a damn walmart!

I don't have a problem with open carry. I would do it all the time but I'd like the option to be able to.

Why? If he had any intentions of doing anyone harm he would keep it hidden until the moment he started shooting. I don't open carry because inevitably someone will freak out and call the police, and too many cops don't understand the law. But I want as many people carrying firearms as possible and the more people open carry the more others will become accustomed to it.

That may be the point.
I hate going to Wally World and getting stuck behind some twat (this happens every damn time too..) that decided it'd be a good idea to bring the entire extended family as well as the neighbors kids for good measure.

Don't be a yellow belly. Respect the gun but don't fear it. The whole idea of carrying a personal firearm is so people think twice before trying anything stupid. If I didn't live in a socialist paradise I'd wear a .44 magnum on my hip in a cool, low slung quickdraw holster and I wouldn't give a hoot what pansy yuppies thought of me.

I own somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 guns. I don't fear guns. I fear the mentally unstable looking guys open carrying guns for the soul purpose of making everyone around him anxious. I gurantee you, you don't need a 44. Magnum to kill someone if the need arises. A .38 special, a .45, or a .357 is way more than you'd ever need, all of which can be easily concealed carried.

I'm so glad there's a huge overlap between gun people and car people.
That being said, given the choice between OC and CC, I'd never personally OC.
But dat freedom

True that, I fear the guy with a 9mil the most. And glocks more than anything because of that stupid ass squeeze safety. At least the guy with a .44 has to consider how much a single bullet costs haha!
Then again, I live in Canada, no handguns up here without a restricted license. Meaning years of ownership, fees, and gun-related courses.

I'm sorry for the conjecture, it's easy to get caught up in assumptions on the internet. The problem you Americans face is that in order for your average joe to carry a handgun, everyone else needs to exercise the right as well. People in general are reluctant to draw a firearm whether it's around a police officer or someone open carrying. The more guns around, the more you'll think twice before being an idiot. For example, NRA conventions are filled with nuts but I don't think there's ever been a shootout because of the consequences one would endure in firing a gun (namely a bunch of guns being pointed in your direction, only one of which needs to go off to kill you). The saying "an armed society is a polite society" holds true I believe, but not enough people are taking it upon themselves to project the peace-keeping effect that open carried guns have.
I understand that it's mighty inconvenient to carry a gun around all the time, and nowadays mostly unnecessary, but all it takes is a few responsible individuals to take it upon themselves to do so in case a citizen is needed to match the force of a delinquent with a gun. I always thought there should be peace officers who aren't full time police, but have gone through training and have civilian jobs but can be called upon to keep the peace if the need arises since police officers can't be everywhere at once or on time in most instances.
And yes I'd carry a snubnose .38/.357 in an underarm holster along with the .44 which would mostly be for show.

I've heard too many stories of police officers who don't know the OC laws freaking out and pulling a gun on someone OCing. Besides, people who OC just seem like they're fearful individuals. It's like a viscous dog that's only aggressive because he's scared. I wouldn't even CC. Yeah, are there places I'd prefer to have a gun on me just in case ? Sure, but 99% of the time I feel plenty safe without a gun. I'm more worried about some idiot hitting me as I walk down the sidewalk or swerving into my oncoming lane than I am of something happening where I would need a gun.
I'm not anti-CC, and I'm definitely not anti-gun (I own 4 of them). But most of the time, I just don't understand why someone has to CC in a safe public environment.
